When I am gone,
Upon my stone,
Etch as you should,
She did what she could.

Between sleep and awake
Lies a powerful land,
Filled with mystical creatures
And strangely dealt hands,
Differing worlds
Seem at will to entwine,
Authoring storms
Whirling through mind,
Slight sense of space,
Tin sense of time,
Various fates
Both wind and unwind,
Twisted together,
Recklessly ripped,
Muddled and mixed-
All circuitry tripped.

Can the will of the wave
Cast aside the sea?
Can the wind refuse the howl,
The forest quit the tree?
Can the moon abate the shine,
The cave the rock set free?
Of the shelter of the sky,
The brilliant sun take leave?
Treasures of the earth hidden
Deep in dirt remain,
The moth will ever flutter near
The bright and open flame,
The bird abandons not his song,
The bee will not the flower flee,
As the stars belong with night,
So I belong with Thee.

Tomorrow doesn’t exist
To complement today.
Today does rarely care
What happened yesterday.
Yesterday has disappeared,
Tomorrow still awaits.
Seems to be today’s the day,
Truly makes our fate.

In between the poles we’d fly
Twisted heart and evil eye
Round and round the mind we flew
Seldom sure who’d be our view
Upside down then right side up
May stay awhile with any luck
Change in the weather
Take us down together
Ties too tight to ever sever
We’ll be here till the twelfth of never…

In the shadow
Of your manic mood
I developed a magic mind:
Superpowers have become mine,
I can see when I am blind,
I can’t sleep but I can fly.
I don’t bend in the pouring rain,
Don’t always know when I feel pain,
Though daybreak is not always plain,
Break free the chain.
I catch it in midair,
No need to try.

Thirty-three
She stared at me
I once was blind
But now I see
Frozen in place
Stunned look on my face
Hands grip the wheel
Unsure of this space
Time stands still
If I don’t blink my eyes
A need to grieve
Takes me by surprise

I feel better
With you beside me,
Without you here,
Who would I be?
I can find
My worth in you,
No need for you to
Need me too.

Regarding Paul:
He wrote about what he knew.
He wrote about the universal-
Those things we all know.
He wrote to clear his head
And to cleanse his heart-
And connected the masses.
Happy Mother’s Day,
And may God bless you,
All of you and each of you,
On this very American Fourth!
Let it be.
