Not Ever

I do not now, nor have I ever,
Placed my confidence in
The power of the law to save,
The power of time to heal,
The good to be had in suffering,
Words spoken under duress,
Violence as the answer,
Love at first sight, or
Paper money.
Some things are make-believe.

I Am No Witch

Sarah, with eyes straight,
Knowing and luminous,
I have no familiarity with the devil.
Sarah, with eyes clear,
Glowing and brilliant,
I am no witch.
Sarah, with Biblical name,
Slender, with graceful curves,
Sarah, confident and calm,
A form a man could not deny.
Sarah, executed to pay for his sins.
Sarah, illustrative of the fall
In the garden where man blamed God
For his worship of the gift,
For his fashioning of an idol
From the clay-pot he called woman.
Eve was no witch.

The Case For Life

Some say to continue living would be
A disaster of magnificent proportion-
I beg to differ,
But then some will say I only like to do so…
Well, I do disagree.

If life everlasting were a bad thing,
Why would God have nailed Himself to a cross to ensure it?
The only terrible thing about life is that it must be lived in the shadow-
In the shadow of the fall,
In the shadow of sin,
In the shadow of death.
This is not the case in the eternal life!

Why, we must meet that ultimate evil only once-
Look it square in the face,
And because of Love and thanks be to Messiah,
The personification of Purest Love,
Laugh as one drugged with Goodness,
And crossover into the Forever!

There will be no shadow in the Forever Life,
Only Light outside of time and space,
The Light that resides in The Love.
Only believe and become one with It;
Only return love as now you can
And be glad for the True Magic!
Rejoice in the True Life!

Promenade

Here I stand,
Sole owner of a small acreage,
And a charming bipolar house,
But the city will fast breach its borders.
Upon the warm soft ground
The giving earth breaks the spring.

Those I brought with me
Here and at my invitation,
Plant their shoes into the birthing land
That will be their own,
And I pull on my boots and dream of walking,
And better still of dancing.

A View of The Game

This world is made for cheating hearts.
I’ve nearly come undone.
My journey here’s confounded me.
I’ve lost more than I’ve won.

I tire of waiting patiently
For our kind transformation.
I’ll be pleased to be with You,
To delight in our vacation.

World Without End

Goats and chickens,
Puppies and kittens,
Old folks and children,
All things that are living;

Flowers and bees,
Microbes and atoms,
Sunlight and starlight,
Healing and forgiving;

My grateful heart,
To be touched and known,
Treasures and pleasures
By Your Word shown;

Almighty Maker,
Wondrous, kind,
Please keep me seeing
With You in my mind.

Forget-Me-Not

I can forget the rain
When flowers bloom
Golden, yellow,
Purple hues.

I can forget the storm
When firelight’s glowing
Violet, and orange,
And blue.

I can forget the silence
When birds do sing,
Carolers, their anthems ring,
And promises abound of spring.

Yet, no antidote
To you begot,
God made you
A Forget-Me-Not.

Novalee

I remember,
You were once me,
Or I was you
It’s hard to see.
Fives meant nothing
But I was young,
One chapter ringing
In my ears for fun,
I meant to give
A name that mattered,
But I was young
My hope was scattered.
