In Him To Belong

I do now thank Him

For the muck and the mire,

For deliverance from a frozen desire

For death…

And for His strong sweet

Breath exhaled on the fire,

When the embers burn low, succumbing to tire

I wait…

There under the skies

I lie stretched on the pyre,

Then all is still, until I hear Him inquire

Of me…

Authenticity Not Required

Furrowing through Friendly Burroughs,
Meandering over expressions fields,
Looking to be virtually encouraged,
As the blind man longing to be healed.

Traveling trails of threads and tags,
Mining moments freshly posted by souls,
Searching for a spot to park their bags,
Preparing to be part of an imitative whole.

Wandering free in near community,
Collectively connecting through thin air,
Gathering seconds fragmentarily,
Dispelling bits and pieces of despair.

What If

What if every time you prayed a shout was heard in the throne room of God?
What if every time you prayed for someone by name a shout was heard that included their name?
What if every time you prayed the shout was heard and angels were immediately dispatched to the aid of the one for whom you cared enough to mention?
What if every time you prayed that band of angels and others were strengthened in power?
What if every time you prayed it affected not only all of life on Earth but all of life in the Heavens?
What if every tiny string of absolutely every particle reverberated at the utterance of your mouth toward God?
What if prayer changes something while in essence it remains the same?
What if prayer is the most important work that any of us will ever do?
Would our priorities change if we knew all these things were true? I was just wondering.

Ulterior Design

You claim to love me
but you like to watch me bleed.
You smile when you hurt me
and you think that know one sees.
I hide from you the way I hid from her,
quiet as a mouse,
I do not not breathe or stir.
Hoping hard not to be uncovered-
a-coup-de-gras!
I am undiscovered.

Love Story

How to reconcile
Love so large,
With Love beyond measure,
Love that is now,
With Love that is treasured,
How to still the ache
When sure the heart will break,
Is an answer most elusive
To that pain most intrusive.

Homecoming

An Advent dream
Dawned sweet and clear!
I was with you.
You were here.

The tree was lit
In candle glow,
Ornaments shining,
Pretty presents below.

The fire flickered
In bright warm hues,
We laughed and cried
While sharing news.

The feast was fine
Long table spread,
With delicacies
From toe to head.

Dessert was served
In frilly dishes,
We spoke of merry
Christmas wishes.

Then too soon
T’was time to go,
Still in sleep
I missed you so!

My Big Dog

My big dog wants to sleep in the middle
My big dog doesn’t wanta be tall
My big dog likes to make me giggle
My big dog wants to knooow
That he’s small!

My big dog he wants to be little.
My big dog  he wants to be small.
My big dog he wants to be little
My big dog just wants to be tiii-ny.

My big dog likes his collar so shiny
My big dog likes to ride in the car
My big dog he would never be whiny
My big dog wants to knooow
Where we are!

My big dog he wants to be little.
My big dog  he wants to be small.
My big dog he wants to be little
My big dog just wants to be tiii-ny.

My big dog doesn’t wanta be crazy
My big dog he sleeps like a log
My big dog he likes to be lazy
My big dog wants to knooow
We won’t jog!

My big dog he wants to be little.
My big dog  he wants to be small.
My big dog he wants to be little
My big dog just wants to be tiii-ny.

My big dog he likes to go camping
My big dog doesn’t wanta wear clothes
My big dog is not in to vamping.
My big dog wants to knooow
I won’t go!

THE END 😁

Note:  The Bible teaches that a good man is kind to his animals.  See Proverbs 12:10. 😊
