Birds of Prey

At the hands of the law

Men choose to crawl,

To live work and play.

As night follows day,

As saints kneel to pray,

The mighty will tumble.

By Grace they fly free,

See from the trees,

Live His bidding to do.

Their shadows will fall

Ore the rotting cabal’s

Strange odorous flesh,

Adorned by Glory

To fulfill the story,

On His signal alight.

Tongues are not pleading;

Chords do the screaming.

Fierce claws rip the eyes out.

For evil so flagrant,

Justice is fragrant.

The unrighteous must pay.

Truth of Christmas Is Not Lost

(For My Lovely Daughter, Emily)

Adam’s choice would be our own;

Dishonor God upon His throne,

Seek our way, our will, our pleasure,

Forfeiting our only treasure,

Exiled now from paradise,

There would be One Sacrifice.

God’s agony upon the cross

Made sure our hope is not the cost;

Beneath the global winter frost,

Truth of Christmas is not lost!

Now each new and hopeful breath

Overcoming vicious death,

Gather we to sing God’s praise,

Our voices raised to heaven blaze

Against our sin; but for our brother,

Love for Christ and one another!

God’s agony upon the cross

Made sure our hope is not the cost.

Beneath the global winter frost,

Truth of Christmas is not lost!

The horrors of this world can’t sway

Our joy ensured on Christmas Day!

Christmas will not die in man,

God willed it not to die; His plan,

To rescue all who hear Him say,

Peace on Earth this Christmas Day!

They With Longing Looked

Angels stared in wide-eyed wonder

While our God, His voice the thunder,

Touched the earth as tiny babe,

Travailed with us within our plague;

Watched God feel and heal in power,

Teach with care until that hour

Love compelled Him toward the cost,

Where for our sins He’d bear the cross;

Saw Christ weeping in the garden,

Begging would there be a pardon,

Blood and tears mixed with the ground,

No person faithful there was found.

Angels looked as God ordained;

Let souls in glory ease Christ’s pain,

None to match His disparate sorrow,

Climbed the hill upon the morrow,

Raised His head in triumph claimed,

It is finished [in my name]!

Still they marvel, it is said;

The boy God sent us in our stead,

Grew in love so bold and pure,

The wrath of God for us endured!

Still they sing, The Great Love Story,

Christ in man, the hope of glory!

Forever Christmas

Oh my friend! Oh my foe!

Zeal in heaven warmly glows;

For all who will admit defeat,

Learn of Him- commandments keep;

Love for God above all

And for each other is His call!

Kneel before Him, promise claim;

Raise your voices- in His name!

Your nature to do evil now

You may subdue in mighty power;

For He who keeps you as you sleep,

Is your fortress- wide and deep.

Perfect ever you will be

He is your own identity,

Should you stumble, you’ll not fall;

His Glory Brilliant- standing tall!

Widow’s Mark

We all bleed,

Return to dust,

But not all

In God will trust.

Hand to heart,

With lowered head,

I lift your Word

As You have said,

As beggar plead;

Now leave your bed,

Comfort me and

Still my dread.

On Women Preachers

I am a mother.  I have sons and daughters and love them absolutely and equally.  But according to Scripture, they have different positions before God, and their assignments are not the same.

Both men and women are at fault for where we are in the church, today.  If men were leading as they should; there would be no question as to the role of a woman in church or in society.  Men had to abdicate for there to be openings in leadership for women.

Eve did not usurp Adam’s position of headship; Adam willingly gave it up.  However, Eve did influence Adam to do evil, as Satan influenced her.  We, men and women, must willingly accept and embrace the responsibilities God has given us; to carry out our particular directives toward God and toward each other, and to resist or to flee evil.

Women and children are not animals- that they should be used according to men’s fancy or need- and should never be treated as such, and men are not pieces on a game board to be manipulated according to their weakness.  All are human beings subject to God’s authority.  Do not be further deceived.  Love one another as Christ in God has loved you.  Speak Truth to one another in Love.

Women are not the problem.  Men are not the problem.  Others are not the problem.  SIN is the problem.  Sin is disobedience to God as He has revealed Himself to be in His Word.  One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, and judgement will follow, and that day may be very soon.

Clay Pot Syndrome

Do you keep it in the bank?

Do you store it in a tank?

Do you keep it in a barn?

Does it keep you safe and warm?

Do you stuff it in your drawers?

In the boxes piled on floors?

Placed in cartons in a room?

In an attic dark with gloom?

In the totes stacked nice and neat?

In the corners, ‘round your feet?

Climbing walls in extra buildings?

Boxes, baskets by the billions!

Do you need it?

Never mind it.

You’ll be dead

Before we find it.

Our Blue

Oh no,
Are you no different?
Help me
While my head is reeling!
I think I see my life
Blurring by in front of me.
Bless me,
I know I’ll not recover!
I’ll need to leave
This time.
I cant stick around
To see another generation flounder,
On these stones
And not recuperate.
Please let me go!
Let me pass!
I’ll need to leave it now at last.
Nothing left for me to do,
But wander in the blue
Of our sin…
Of our sin.

Bye, Smiley

Long ago sunny day,

Little blond boy

With blue eyes wide,

Fair left town,

We’re mesmerized.

Around his finger ribbon twined,

Faint memories of worldly glitter,

Promises of something better,

Fair left town,

But we remember.

Inflated friend with painted smile,

Drew lines of imagery

Between us,

Fair left town,

Along with trust.

He let it go,

Had second thoughts,

Catch the string, I could not.

Fair left town,

Our hope was lost.

The Good Garden

For Clara, Luca, and Zeek

I want to be in paradise,

Where men may well converse with mice,

Where cows join in at sing-alongs,

And never does one not belong.

I know that it must be a place,

Where all hatred is erased.

Cats will walk and talk with pheasants,

Discussing things so very pleasant.

When mushrooms speak I’ll understand,

Offering to lend a hand,

Knowing how they do conspire,

To share a stage with the oyster choir.

I’ll notice dragons playing chess,

With ostriches their honored guests.

Bunnies gladly do the farming,

And every simple meal is charming.

All pigs love to entertain.

Ducks ride the alligator train.

Beavers keep the swamp pristine,

Where a butterfly is always queen.

Flower jewelers do her hair,

While bees dress her beyond compare.

Turtles carry her to tea,

Beside the not-so-salty sea.

Dogs do dance with kangaroos,

Boogie-woogie instead of blues.

Birds are best in charge of fashion,

And good will always come of passion.
